A Varicocele is a condition characterized by the enlargement of the veins within the scrotum—the loose bag of skin that holds the testicles. These veins, known as the pampiniform plexus, are responsible for draining blood from the testicles. When these veins become dilated or twisted, it results in a varicocele, similar to varicose veins in the legs.

Varicocele is one of the most common identifiable causes of male infertility, affecting approximately 15% of all men and up to 40% of men diagnosed with infertility.
