Vaginal laxity, also known as Yoni Shaithilya in Ayurveda, refers to the condition of decreased tone and reduced elasticity of the vaginal walls. Commonly described as a feeling of "looseness," this condition can arise due to various factors, including childbirth, hormonal changes (especially during menopause), aging, or certain medical conditions. It may lead to a decline in intimate wellness, diminished sexual satisfaction, and in some cases, urinary incontinence or pelvic floor discomfort.
In Ayurveda, the integrity and strength of the reproductive system (particularly the yoni or vaginal canal) are governed by Vata dosha, especially Apana Vata, which governs downward energy flow, reproduction, and elimination. When Apana Vata becomes imbalanced — due to excessive physical exertion, frequent childbirth, improper diet, or neglect of postpartum care — the supporting muscles and tissues of the vaginal canal may lose firmness and tone.
Unlike temporary or surgical solutions, Ayurveda aims to restore natural tone and strength through inner balance and rejuvenation. Our treatments are non-invasive, safe, and personalized according to your constitution (Prakriti) and specific imbalances (Vikriti).
